Let’s take a look at the Polish market from a SaaS perspective. Poland has become the sixth-largest economy in Europe and continues to grow. The key question is which sectors are the most promising for acquiring clients with SaaS solutions. That is the focus of this article. Based on our research into the potential of the Polish market, we present the key findings below.
In the previous article about Poland’s most promising industries, I mentioned that the largest sector in the Polish economy is services. This includes a broad range of activities, from BPO, SSC, and IT to energy, finance, insurance, and supply chains. It is therefore reasonable to assume that ICT plays a significant role in the Polish economy.
What are the main trends in the ICT sector in Poland?
Globally, the ICT sector is growing rapidly. Cybersecurity, cloud computing, AI, and e-commerce are among the fastest-growing segments. The same trend is visible in Poland, which is one of the fastest-developing markets in Europe in this area. Poland is the 15th-largest exporter of ICT equipment in Europe, and demand continues to rise for cloud solutions, generative AI, cybersecurity, and IoT.
Small and medium-sized enterprises account for 95% of all companies in Poland. This means that the availability of affordable cloud and AI tools strongly drives demand in this segment. A quick overview of the Polish IT landscape shows that only 27% of companies have a formal IT strategy, while 28% already use AI tools. This clearly indicates significant potential for the adoption of SaaS solutions.
Poland is home to hundreds of companies offering software in a cloud model. The market includes both large, established players and many smaller but dynamic startups with global ambitions. Notable examples include RTB House, GetResponse, LiveChat, Software Mind, and Comarch. These companies operate not only in Poland but also on international markets.
- RTB House – RTB House is a global advertising platform that uses artificial intelligence and deep learning to personalize online marketing campaigns. The company operates in over 90 countries, offering DSP and retargeting solutions for major brands.
- GetResponse – GetResponse is a marketing automation platform that enables email campaigns, webinars, and sales funnels. It serves over 350,000 clients in more than 160 countries, with a strong presence in the USA and Europe.
- LiveChat – LiveChat is a customer support tool offering live chat, chatbots, and ticketing. The platform operates in over 150 countries.
- Asseco – Asseco provides SaaS solutions for ERP, finance, and administration, operating in over 60 countries.
- Software Mind – Software Mind delivers IT services and SaaS platforms to support digital transformation and product development. The company serves clients globally, including Europe, the USA, and Latin America.
- Comarch – Comarch offers ERP, CRM, and cloud solutions for businesses and institutions worldwide. Its revenue is balanced between Poland and international markets, making it one of the most recognized Polish enterprise SaaS providers.
The Polish ICT sector is one of the main drivers of digitalization and innovation in the economy, but it suffers from a huge shortage of specialists. According to the GUS report, Poland has over 5% unemployment. This means that it is much easier to find a well-paid job than to find a good employee. In the IT segment, the situation is even worse. For example, in Warsaw, unemployment in the IT sector is about 1%. This severe shortage of IT specialists affects the ability to find resources in other markets. That’s why introducing an adjusted SaaS solution for Polish businesses can lead to success.
Now, let’s take a closer look at the market as a whole. Which industries in Poland have the greatest potential for SaaS system sales?Advanced business services (BPO / SSC / IT services)
According to the PARP IT/ICT report, there are over 100,000 ICT entities in Poland, including nearly 3,000 medium-sized companies. At the end of Q1 2025, the sector employed 488,700 people. This means that there is significant potential in this sector. Most of these companies need advanced tools to manage processes, teamwork, and automation.
Furthermore, a strong technology ecosystem, steadily increasing exports of IT solutions, and significant investments in AI and cloud computing suggest that companies are open to new SaaS solutions. BPO/SSC/IT companies often have repeatable processes that can be replaced by SaaS systems, which in the long run are more cost-effective.
Investments in AI and cloud computing show that Polish companies want to adopt solutions based on subscription models and cloud workflows, which align well with the SaaS model.
Renewable energy (RES)
Installed capacity reached 17.7 GW in 2024, with a market value of over PLN 20 billion. According to the RENAC (EurObserv’ER) report, approximately 1.86 million people are employed in the RES sector across the EU (directly and indirectly). In Poland, this number is around 143,000. The sector has shown the highest growth rate in recent years, although it stabilized in 2024. We have reached the maturity phase, and this is the moment when companies stop concentrating on development and start to optimize costs and processes. That is why this is the best time for implementing SaaS solutions. Solutions that help manage assets, processes, and standards will be necessary to ensure continued operations and long-term prosperity.
Manufacturing
The industry accounts for 16% of Poland’s GDP. Cost pressures are driving the need for automation, as many Polish companies still rely on Excel. Modernization trends are pushing investments in:
• IoT / sensors: platforms for maintaining and analysing data
• Machine monitoring: alerts, reports, dashboards
• MES systems: increasingly common in the SaaS model
• Digital production planning: collaborative tools, planning in the cloud
• Predictive maintenance: connecting SaaS and AI
• AI for process optimization: classic continuous improvement
Therefore, the manufacturing sector in Poland is highly suitable for SaaS solutions, particularly those focused on automation, data-driven decision-making, and cost optimization.
E-commerce
According to Eurostat, 16.8% of companies conduct e-commerce sales, compared to the European average of 19%.
-
- Belgium: 28,77%
- Czechia: 24,69%
- Ireland: 24,22%
- Luxembourg: 22,62%
- Hungary: 21,77%
- Germany: 20,67%
- Spain: 19,52%
- Portugal: 19,50%
- Italy: 16,93%
- Poland 16,88%
- Latvia: 16,13%
- Estonia: 15,67%
- Malta: 13,34%
- Romania: 12,36%
- France: 12,26%
Poland is in the catch-up phase, and improvements are needed. There is strong potential for growth and a high pace of adoption in the coming years. Solutions that bring improvement and development are necessary, and the SaaS model seems to be a perfect fit in this case.
We’ve noticed that 59.5% of Polish e-commerce businesses use marketplaces (mostly Allegro.pl). This dominance shows a dependence on external platforms, which is why there is space for SaaS supporting D2C, omnichannel, and sales and marketing automation.
E-commerce is a natural beneficiary of digitalization and SaaS, as it cannot function without them. Companies are looking for new sales channels, there is price pressure, and, moreover, customers increasingly prefer buying online.
Financial and insurance activities
There are 9,215 organizations in the sector in Poland. All companies in the industry generate a total of PLN 255.85 billion.
The number of organizations in the industry decreases on average by about 7 companies per year. Total industry revenues increase by PLN 15.52 billion annually. The average annual growth rate (CAGR) is 5.3%. Also, the fintech sector in Poland is really growing.
In a nutshell, this sector needs solutions that help automate processes and management. There are a lot of companies in this sector, and income is still increasing, which suggests that there are funds for investments. Changes in law, such as the KSEF system, also provide opportunities to implement digital solutions
Electricity, gas, steam, hot water, and air supply for air conditioning systems
There are 9,726 organizations in the sector. All companies in the industry generate a total of PLN 232.88 billion.
The number of organizations in the industry grows on average by about 1,019 companies per year, while total industry revenues decrease by PLN 98.74 million annually. The average annual growth rate (CAGR) is -0.0%.
All things considered, it is a great opportunity to implement SaaS solutions that help reduce costs, automate tasks, and optimize processes.
What are our recommendations?
We can see that there are many solutions based on AI, but still a lot of companies in Poland rely on manual processes, Excel spreadsheets, and traditional workflows instead of adopting automation. The good news is that awareness about automation, which is essential for development, is still increasing, so companies will probably be looking for solutions such as SaaS to manage, sell, and automate processes inside and outside the organization.
That’s why all SaaS solutions connected with sectors such as BPO/IT/SSC, manufacturing, finance, e-commerce, electricity, etc., are set to experience significant growth and peak performance in the coming years in Poland.
